The Douglas County Slash/Mulch program provides a drop-off site for tree limbs, shrubs, and other yard waste to reduce fire risk and promote recycling. Located in Castle Rock, it operates on Saturdays from April through October, weather permitting. The site offers free wood chips for mulching and has specific guidelines for what can and cannot be accepted. Unacceptable items include appliances, trash, and certain plant materials like grass or leaves.
