Join the Celebration of Nature: Parker’s Annual Arbor Day Event
This April 27th, immerse yourself in the spirit of Arbor Day with Parker’s Parks and Recreation Department at Discovery Park. Our annual celebration is not just about planting trees; it's a vibrant festival of nature, learning, and community spirit, open to everyone, free of charge!
Event Highlights:
Festivities Kick Off with a Planting Ceremony
Begin your day with us at a special tree planting ceremony where you can help plant Ponderosa Pine or Kentucky Coffee Tree seedlings. These trees are not only beautiful but are also vital for local wildlife and ecosystems.
Interactive Learning and Fun
After the planting, visit our arborist table for insights into tree care, from selection and planting to pruning. Our Parks and Forestry team will be ready to answer all your questions. Don’t miss out on a variety of environmental information booths and a special craft activity for kids, hosted by Parker Recreation and Douglas County Libraries.
Food and More
Enjoy the community vibe with local food trucks offering a variety of tasty foods available for purchase. This event goes on rain or shine, so come prepared for a fun-filled morning dedicated to greening our community.
Why It Matters
Parker has proudly held the title of "Tree City USA" since 1994, and events like Arbor Day play a crucial role in maintaining this honor by fostering a greater appreciation for trees and environmental stewardship among residents.
